Weddings and all other Rites of Passage

In January of 1995, after several years experience as a Funeral and Naming Celebrant, I was appointed as a civil marriage celebrant by the Federal Attorney General in Australia, and have authorisation to conduct civil marriages anywhere within Australia according to our Federal law. Throughout the years I have undertaken much Professional Development, even before it was compulsory! I believe it is important to not only keep up with the legal requirements of celebrancy but to seek stimulation and fresh ideas, so that my ceremonies are vibrant and relevant.

The first part of my career was in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges on the outskirts of Melbourne, and following our tree-change, for the past 8 years primarily in the Central Highlands, Western Districts and Central Goldfields.

Over the years I have officiated at ceremonies in many different and delightful venues - from bush parks and country properties to magnificent gardens, wineries and hot air balloons, atmospheric lakes and rivers to more traditional wedding chapels, both contemporary and historic.

I believe we seek ritual when something out of the ordinary is happening in our lives; to mark the important changes in our lives. I am experienced in the following types of ceremonies:
*     Weddings within Australia (for local and overseas couples)
*     Funeral and Memorial Ceremonies
*     Naming Ceremonies for Children and Adults
*     Commitment Ceremonies
*     Funeral Ceremonies for Companion Animals
*     Other Ceremonies

I perceive my role in any ceremony is to facilitate the hopes and wishes of my clients while communicating their values, ideals and emotions to their chosen guests.

I am here not only to assist you in the legalities of your wedding, but to help you to find the words to create a ceremony that will reflect your love and your relationship. Because your relationship is unique, I believe your wedding ceremony should also be unique.

I encourage you to follow your heart and have the ceremony that you want - words and music which reflect your own personal tastes. It does not have to be anything traditional.

If you are overseas and wishing to be married in Australia, I can provide you with all the information and legal documentation you require. Our waiting period in Australia is longer than most countries, being one month and one day from when the "Notification of IntendedMarriage" is lodged with the celebrant, so it is usually necessary to start things in process before you arrive in Australia.
